Fine-Grained Privacy for Groups
One of Tsukimi's key features is the ability to set different precision levels for different groups. This means you can share your city with close friends but only your country with a larger community.
How it works
When you join or manage a group, you can set a precision level specifically for that group. This precision level determines how your location appears to other members of that group.
Using your default
If you choose "Use Default", the group will follow whatever precision level you've set globally in Settings. If you later change your global precision, the group will automatically reflect the new value.
Overriding per group
You can override the default by selecting a specific level for a group. For example:
- Global default: City
- Close friends group: City (uses default)
- Gaming community group: Country (overridden)
- Public group: Continent (overridden)
Precision caps
There's one important rule: a group's precision cannot be more specific than your global default. If your default precision is "Country," you can't set a group to "City" because the system doesn't have sufficiently precise display data at that level.
If this happens, the group precision selector will show those finer levels as disabled with a note explaining the limitation.
Changing group precision
You can update your precision for any group at any time from the group's settings page. The change takes effect immediately.
