Keeping Your Location Current
Your location in Tsukimi isn't tracked continuously. You update it when you want to, and it stays set until you change it again.
How to update
On your Profile page, under Update Location, you have two options:
- Auto-detect: Click the auto-detect button to use your browser's geolocation. Your browser will ask for permission the first time.
- Manual search: Type a city, address, or place name into the search field and select from the results.
What happens when you update
When you set a new location:
- Your actual coordinates are stored securely (visible only to you)
- A display location is generated based on your current precision level
- Your timezone is automatically updated (unless you're in manual timezone mode)
- Your display location name is recalculated (e.g., "Chicago" at city precision, "Illinois" at region precision)
Changing precision also updates your display
If you change your precision level without updating your coordinates, your display location will still update. For example, switching from "City" to "Country" will change your displayed location from "Chicago" to "United States."
Timezone detection
By default, Tsukimi detects your timezone from your location. If you're traveling and want to keep your home timezone, switch to manual mode on the Profile page under Update Timezone.
